A Melbourne-based paediatrician and proud mother of three, who is deeply passionate about child development, emotional safety, and helping families navigate the very real, messy, and deeply human journey of parenting.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of caring for children across every stage of childhood, from newborn care through to complex medical conditions, neurodevelopmental differences, and everyday challenges that can leave parents feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply exhausted.
While my medical training gave me a strong foundation in child health, some of my deepest understanding of emotional safety, behaviour, and connection has also been shaped by personal adversity, lived experience, and my own journey of growth and healing. Alongside my experience as a mother, this has profoundly shaped how I now understand children, families and parenting.
Because the reality is, parenting is not just about raising children. It also has a way of growing us.
I graduated with honours in both Medicine (MBBS) and Biomedical Science (BMedSc) from Monash University, before completing my specialist paediatric training through Monash Children’s Hospital and The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Over the years, I have worked across both metropolitan and regional settings, caring for children with a wide range of medical, developmental, and behavioural needs.
Throughout my career, I have also supervised and mentored medical trainees, and previously served as Chief Resident Medical Officer at Monash Children’s Hospital.
I obtained my fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in both General Paediatrics and Paediatric Infectious Diseases. I have held consultant positions at Monash Children’s Hospital within both General Paediatrics and Infectious Diseases, and now continue to work casually within Monash Children’s Developmental Paediatrics department.
My contributions to medicine extend beyond clinical care. I have contributed to peer-reviewed publications, hospital-based initiatives, and state-wide clinical guidelines. I also continue to serve as an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor, helping train healthcare professionals in the management of critically ill and injured children.
Following my transition to motherhood, my professional interests and ongoing development have increasingly centred around behavioural and developmental paediatrics, emotional regulation, child development, and the parent-child relationship.
Becoming a mother was one of the most beautiful transitions of my life, but also one of the most humbling, trying, and deeply transformative.
As a paediatrician, I had a strong understanding of child health and development. But motherhood showed me firsthand that parenting is so much more than knowledge alone. It can be messy, exhausting, confronting, and full of moments that challenge not only how we respond to our children, but how we understand ourselves.
Doctor Tash was born out of that.
Through my online presence, the Mum to Mum with Doctor Tash podcast, and my wider community, I share honest reflections, practical insight, and real-life lessons from both my professional experience and my own parenting journey.
My hope is not to offer perfection, but to create a space where families feel supported, encouraged, and less alone as they navigate the deeply human journey of raising children.
That is the heart behind everything I do as Doctor Tash.
